The Cambridge Professional Center provides counseling services to children, adolescents, adults and families.
Our counseling style is best described as “Integrationist.” This style of counseling utilizes a variety of well-established clinical interventions and are selected based upon the specific needs of each of our clients. Among others, these are based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology and family systems theory.
The members of our clinical team are master’s level clinicians and licensed counselors that have current and past experience as psychotherapists, teachers, administrators, enterpreneurs, parents and more.
Our clinicians have a broad range of specializations that include the psychological impact of chronic health problems, mood disorders (such as anxiety and depression), family systems problems, marital problems and personal development issues.
Please remember in reviewing this list that we do not only focus on your problems. It is our goal to identify your strengths and use them to minimize what you might perceive as your weaknesses.
We do not belong to any managed care insurance panels. We provide you with regular invoices that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
The benefits of using your insurance benefits is that they will be at a lower cost, and they will track your progress to try to ensure you receive the most appropriate care. Additionally, it may be easier to find a therapist via the list maintained by your insurance provider.
There are some potential drawbacks to utilizing your insurance benefits for counseling. Most providers will not provide coverage unless you are diagnosed with a mental disorder. This diagnosis will likely remain in your medical records permanently, and other insurance companies will weigh this in the future when considering whether or not to cover you in the future. This information may be collected by the medical information bureau (MIB), which provides information about consumers to insurance companies much in the same way that credit bureaus provide your credit history to relevant businesses and financial institutions. Read more about MIB on their website and on About.com.
